It is true that Sherlock Holmes did use some type of drug. He would smoke it in his pipe. I wasn't sure if it was Opium. I thought it was Cocaine but to be honest, I am not totally sure. I have several books about him. You need to read all the stories to know for yourself. From what I have read and understood, Holmes was not really into seeing women as romance relationships. He just saw them as friends or the supposed "weaker ."
