Separated but still seeing him?

my boyfriend of one year decided to leave i have a two year old from a previouse marriage and we just had our first child together a baby boy is now just two months, he said that he didnt want to be with me any more but when i see him all he does is want to kiss me and hug me and still wants to do what i would call intimate things and tell me that he loves me , as he left me i am left with all the bills and taking care of both children my self and still try to keep my job . is this somthing i should wait for him to decide when he wants to come back or should i just stop all connections with him i just dont understand why he is acting the way that he is . but then little things like i asked to use his phone to get a interview for food stamps and he said no , and that i could go use a payphone . so he is acting like he enjoys my company basically but then he is very cold at certain times i just dont know whats going on or if i should just move on and live my life and tell him that if he doest want to be commited to this family then good bye what do you think can any of you help me ?
