Who do you think was the cause of The Crucible?

Abigail definitely had a role in it--but she was playing off a lot of the faults of the other characters, so that they were a large part of the problem as well. Abigail was more outward, but there is also a very subtle "cause"--and that is that the expectations of their society were bent to begin with, being afraid of their own humanity and white-washing sins, and denying responsibility. Overall, just a very hypocritical, finger-pointing, unhealthy enviornment.
